This Friday, the office of First Lady Melania Trump announced that both she and President Trump will be hosting a Halloween event for children which attend 20 local schools as well as military families next week.
In a statement released this Friday, the office of the first lady said, “On Monday, October 30, 2017, the White House will open the South Lawn to ghosts and goblins of all ages.”
To explain in more detail, the White House will be welcoming both parents and children from schools in Maryland, Virginia, as well as the District of Columbia for a session of trick-or-treat on the South Lawn.
The First Family will be giving out presidential labeled M&M’s and Halloween-themed cookies, specially prepared by the White House pastry kitchen.
The children will also have the opportunity to trick-or-treat from NASA officials, FEMA personnel, Secret Service agents, National Park Service officers, as well as members of the Education Department, which will be scattered all across the lawn.
The statement also went on to reveal that “During this event, trick-or-treaters will enjoy seeing the South Portico decorated in spider webs, creating a festive look and feel. There will also be bats and orange pumpkins with profiles of past presidents,” before explaining how the scenery will be mysterious, with fog in the air, and “the trees and south facade will be lit with different colors throughout the night.”
The statement also included a lesser important list of things which the guests aren’t allowed to bring to the Halloween party.
